Concerning a local bill in Georgia which would allow police to take a vehicle away from illegal aliens, Barr has said "while this expansion of the state’s asset forfeiture laws may have surface appeal since it purports to punish illegal aliens, the real victims will be law-abiding citizens who simply lend their vehicles to someone who either may them self have an immigration problem with the feds, or who might happen to then let someone in such a situation use the car to run to the drug store.," March, 17 2008; ajc.com

Concerning the Hazleton decision which stops the local government from enforcing immigration laws because they infringe on the illegal aliens rights. GENERAL INFORMATION - Bob Barr is an American attorney and former member of the United States House of Reprsentatives. Barr represented Georgia's 7th congressional district as a Republican from 1995 to 2003. He achieved significant notoriety as one of the leaders of the impeachment of President Bill Clinton.

Barr joined the Libertarian Party in 2006,and as of 2008 serves on its National Committee.On April 5, 2008, Barr announced the formation of an exploratory committee for his seeking the Libertarian nomination for President of the United States in the 2008 election.On 2008, Barr formally announced his candidacy for the presidency.
