ABI "Immigration Grade Cards" and "Immigration Candidate Pages" are the most viewed sources on the internet for citizens wanting to know the immigration actions of Members of Congress and the immigration positions of people seeking to be elected to Congress.

If you want voters to know your immigration positions, you will want to return this survey to us as soon as possible. We will be making our initial candidate pages public on our website later this month. I hope the page for your race will have information from your survey.

ABI never endorses candidates. We state to users of our Grade Cards and Candidate Pages that we realize that voters mark their ballot based on many issues and judgments about the character and leadership of a candidate. What we offer is a way for voters to know which candidates are most likely to reduce overall immigration and which are most likely to increase it so they can factor that into their voting decisions.

Americans for Better Immigration supports the recommendations of (1) the bi-partisan U.S. Commission on Immigration Reform that called for immigration reductions to protect vulnerable American workers and their families and of (2) the President's Council on Sustainable Development that said immigration numbers had to be reduced to achieve an environmentally sustainable future.

With more than 14 million American workers unable to find a full-time job and with U.S. population growth (87% related to immigration) destroying approximately 1 million acres of natural habitat and farmland each year while further congesting American communities, ABI believes Members of Congress should be looking for ways to greatly reduce the current flow of nearly 2 million foreign workers and family members into the United States each year.

The Census Bureau states that U.S. communities -- which had 203 million people in 1970 and almost 300 million today -- will have to handle a half-BILLION people after mid-century, if immigration is not substantially reduced. Nearly all the growth will be the result of post-1970 immigration. ABI opposes the federal government forcing that kind of congestion and infrastructure over-load on local communities and the American people.
