Reduce Overall Immigration Numbers

Overall Immigration refers to the total number of legal immigrants and illegal aliens who settle permanently in the United States every year.

During the first two hundred years (1776-1976) of our nation's history, annual immigration to the U.S. averaged 250,000 people a year - the longest, largest sustained flow of immigrants into a single nation in world history up to that point.

In 1965, Congress changed the law to allow immigrants from all countries to bring in their extended family (parents, uncles, aunts, adult siblings, etc.), creating a chain that will eventually include everyone in the world. Annual immigration immediately began to skyrocket and, since 1990, we have averaged 1 million legal immigrants to the U.S. every year. An additional 1 million illegal aliens settle permanently in the U.S. every year.

The Pew Research Center projects U.S. population to reach 438 Million by 2050; 82 percent of that growth will be attributable to immigration. This Federally-forced population growth exacerbates sprawl, congestion, overcrowded schools and hospitals, and undermines America's goals of economic justice and environmental sustainability.
