Incumbent Candidates with Strong
Immigration Voting Records

The following Members of Congress who are running for reelection this year receive a Career Immigration Grade of “B” or higher from Americans for Better Immigration (ABI), indicating that they are generally inclined toward immigration reform. In some cases, Members are very strong in certain subjects (i.e. border control or interior enforcement), but weak in other categories (i.e. they may support a guestworker program or increased chain migration). However, their Career Immigration Grade of “B” or higher indicates that they have supported lower immigration numbers more than half of the time they have acted.

NOTE:
Grades last updated on October 3, 2006. Candidates whose names appear below in green have submitted surveys indicating they are "True Immigration-Reformers." Names appearing in purple indicate a survey has been submitted, but he or she does not meet the standards set for being listed as "True Immigration-Reform Candidates."

ABI NEVER ENDORSES CANDIDATES.
Our highlighting of some candidates is to help citizens know who is most likely to work for reducing overall immigration so citizens can factor that information into their voting decisions. But we realize that voters mark their ballot based on many issues and judgments about the character and leadership of a candidate. We don’t presume to suggest the best candidate for your overall needs and interests. And, NumbersUSA is strictly non-partisan, with no preference for one party or another.

ENCOURAGE CANDIDATES TO TAKE THE IMMIGRATION SURVEY. If you find a candidate page with no positions shown, email an immigration survey (found immediately below) to that candidate and strongly encourage him/her to complete it so that voters can be properly informed.

When you click on a candidate's name ...

You will see a grid that compares candidates' positions on various immigration issues. These positions have been ascertained by looking at actual ABI Report Cards and/or the surveys we have sent them and they have returned to us.

If you find a candidate page with no positions shown, email an immigration survey to that candidate and strongly encourage him/her to complete it so that voters can be properly informed.

We make changes in the comparison pages as soon as new information emerges. If you see any discrepancies, have additional candidates to suggest, or if you want to make the case that we have highlighted a race that is inappropriate, please contact us.
