The Latest from Capitol Hill: In October, 2000, Congress increased the annual allotment of H-1B visas for foreign, high-tech workers to 200,000 a year for three years beginning in FY 2001. The Senate passed the increase by a vote of 96-1 and the House passed it by voice vote.

Fight H-1B abuse in the courts: FAIR wants to hear from people who are willing to be named plaintiffs in administrative complaints about H-1B abuses. They can only consider requests from individuals with documented cases of wrongdoings in the H-1B program. In addition, the abuses must not have ended more than a year ago. This is not a forum for expressing discontent with the H-1B program, but rather a forum for documented cases of abuse within the program. Contact FAIR.
